Dennis McCuistion is a co-founder of the McCuistion television program (now Perspectives Matter) on KERA and other PBS and video outlets. He was an Executive Producer and the original host for over 30 years. Dennis has a lifelong passion for public policy, and the television program was the idea of a former CBS affiliate general manager in 1985 following Dennis’s advocacy for free markets on television and radio and in the print press. Among the people he has interviewed over the years are the father of the Internet and the inventor of the World Wide Web. Other guests have been ambassadors, politicians, economists, public policy experts and a wide variety of smart people.
He spent over 20 years in banking and calls himself a “recovering bank CEO.” An author of three books, he considers himself a teacher and has consulted for and spoken to thousands of audiences over the years primarily on financial and economic topics. He served on many corporate boards including three publicly traded companies. He has two degrees from SMU, and he finished his career as Clinical Professor of Corporate Governance at the University of Texas at Dallas where he headed the Institute for Excellence in Corporate Governance.
Dennis retired from the university in 2020 and has moved to France. He continues to host Perspectives Matter for the Free to Choose Network, and those programs can be seen on www.perspectivesmatter.com. Additionally, he is working on a four-hour documentary on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
