Joining hosts Dennis McCuistion and Jim Falk are:
Jin Houzhen (Jeremy), UT Dallas graduate student, and Zak Dychtwald, Author of Young China: How the Restless Generation Will Change Their Country and the World, and CEO, Young China Group.
There are over 200 million Chinese Millennials asking, who do we want to be? And what is our role in the world?
While their parents, the one-child policy generation, instituted in the 1980s and 1990s, which produced a generation of “only me” children, accepted the government mandates in every area of their lives, the restless generation does not. They are increasingly consumer-oriented, questioning government dictates, and expanding their world.
They often go abroad to study and bring back new ideas that are increasingly changing the Chinese landscape. This generation wants more freedom to live as they please, marry whom they want or not marry, where to go to school and where to live.
This program explores the changes occurring from single-child pressure to one-night stands and Confucian values.
