Our guests emphasize that while right now we may need to physically distance it is one of the worst things, we can do long term. People need connection, and being part of a social network is essential for your health. The term social distancing has negative connotations. So, it is important we stay in touch with people even while apart.
Another critical piece to the staying healthy puzzle is resiliency, how well a person can adapt to the events in their life and to recover quickly from difficulties.
Those with a high resiliency factor fare healthier. They can better withstand negativity, crisis, anxiety and grief. A person with good resilience has the ability to regroup more quickly and with less stress than someone whose resilience is less developed.
They can be knocked down and still bounce back. Resiliency is the mental reservoir of strength that people are able to call on in times of need to carry them through without falling apart. Resilient individuals are better able to handle adversity and rebuild their lives after a catastrophe.
Tune in to learn more about how to stay well and even flourish during challenging and even unprecedented times like this.
To all of our friends, stay well, stay healthy and stay inspired.
