David M. Walker, former Comptroller General of the United States and head of the Government Accountability Office (1998-2008) is on a mission to educate Americans on the growing debt issue and its subsequent damage to our nation’s infrastructure.
He joins us on this program to talk about his beliefs, “The US government is on a ‘burning platform’ of unsustainable policies and practices with fiscal deficits, expensive over commitments to government provided health care and growing Medicare, Social Security and defense spending.” Walker has embarked on a fiscal wakeup tour to help educate Americans on this growing concern. He says, “Congress, which is supposed to guide the appropriations bill has not done so in three years”. He believes, that on defense spending alone, we spend 15- 20 times more than most other nations combined, “and we can absolutely reduce our defense spending without compromising our National security.”
From Walker’s perspective, laws need to be changed. He comments, “Spending is a bi- partisan problem. In the last 100 years government has grown 12 times larger plus, we’ve gone from a $20 trillion deficit to $70 trillion in 12 years under 8 years of a Republican administration and 4 years of a Democrat one.”
Walker discusses what has to be done to stop the deficit Ponzi scheme. He believes all Americans need to become more informed and involved, and we must hold our legislators accountable.
Join us on McCuistion TV for an eye opening account of the deficit situation and potential solutions, where as always we’re talking about what really matters with people who care.

Hi Niki,
My dad loves your show so much. He watches it weekly.
He is a hearing challenged.
Do you offer transcripts for those shows that aired on TV.
It would help us tremendously in learning English.
Please let us know.
Thank you so much,
Andy
Delighted your dad enjoys the program. While we do not have transcripts it is closed captioned. Thank you so much for watching!
Best regards,
Niki
Can we really address federal debt and deficit challenges from a removed point of view when we individual Americans run debt & deficit in our personal and family structures?
If we as individuals have a sense of entitlements and pursue life wants and needs on a ‘I deserve’ this and that mentality and culture, how do we expect those we elect who come from within to go to Washington and not exhibit such culture?
The cure must come from us Americans agreeing to cut our coat according to our size and eliminate many ‘wants’ that have become part of our daily life as we posture as the richest nation in the world or rich persons even when we are on borrowed times/resources.
Money is never enough. It is the attitude to money and its effective use towards ‘needs’ as opposed to ‘wants’ that matter. Our public finance and budget system is overwhelmed with load factors that amounts to 15-20% in every budgeted dollar. On a simple math, a waste factor and it does not matter how much more money comes into the system, the waste exists. To plug the system is to minimize and reduce the load/waste factor.
Enjoyed the program and how it is pointed out that the deficit is a bi-partisan problem. I wish he would have elaborated more on cures for all of this. Still an insightful program, I might have to check out his book to read more on the topic.
