Robert PotterDr. Robert J. Potter is president of R. J. Potter Company, a technical and business consulting firm based in Irving, Texas. Potter assists company management and investors in reaching their business and financial goals by innovation, analysis, strategy development, and occasional on-site management. Potter provides a unique style of management counseling and coaching. He helps owners and CEOs handle complex business issues as well as tactical problems. Experienced in product development and adept at on-the-spot problem solving, Potter offers creative solutions to both technical and marketing situations. Strong financial acumen and hands-on ability have enabled him to find ways to significantly improve the performance of both profitable and marginal businesses. Potter structures and facilitates strategic and complex seminars, retreats and planning meetings.

Dr. Potter is a veteran of Corporate America having served as president and chief executive of Datapoint Corporation (NYSE). Previously he was group vice president of Nortel Networks, senior vice president and chief technical officer of International Harvester Company, president of the Office Systems Division of Xerox Corporation and research manager of IBM Corporation.

Potter serves on the boards of two NASDAQ companies, Molex and Zebra Technologies, as well as two private companies. He is a trustee of the Illinois Institute of Technology.

He has a B.S. in physics with honors from Lafayette College, an M.A. in physics and a Ph.D. in optics from the University of Rochester. His doctoral thesis was the first in the USA on fiber optics. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Sigma Xi.
